Change to squash booking times and system

Following a strategic review undertaken in recent weeks, and to respond to a number of sensible suggestions from members, squash court bookings are now scheduled in 45 minutes sessions, as opposed to the current 40 minutes previously scheduled, with immediate effect. The online system operated by the Club does not allow us to run the existing schedule now with a different schedule commencing at a future date, hence the need to simply apply this change immediately. We have also adjusted the cost of each from the current £0.50 to £0.60. This change will allow members sufficient time to complete their matches and helps the Club reduce the amount of time booked off for coaching activities. Currently if we want to run a 1 hour coaching session we are left with no alternative but to book courts off for 1 hour and 20 minutes. As part of our review all future coaching sessions will run for the full time courts are booked for coaching use – i.e. 45 minutes or 1 hour and 30 minutes. In order that the addition of 5 minutes to each booking does not reduce the number of booking slots available each day we are also allow members to book from the earlier time of 9am each morning. For reference the new booking schedule will appear online and in the clubhouse as follows: 9.00am 9.45am 10.30am 11.15am 12.00pm 12.45pm 1.30pm 2.15pm 3.00pm 3.45pm 4.30pm 5.15pm 6.00pm 6.45pm 7.30pm 8.15pm 9.00pm 9.45pm 10.30pm Please note the times on the separate email from "Giffnock Social Events" earlier today were wrong for times after 6 45 - the ones above are correct. Any existing booking made by a member has been moved to the closest possible time by our system administrator and has been charged at the old rate. Members are asked to check the time of any booking moved by the Club. If the new time allocated to your booking is not acceptable to you and you cannot move to another slot either side of your allocated time for any reason you will be rebated in full for your booking fee by simply cancelling your booking. We thank all members for their cooperation in this matter and look forward to this new court bookings schedule freeing up valuable court time for Club member use. Richard Cook, President Jim Kerr, Treasurer
